Support and Hope for Those Affected by Another’s Marijuana Use
Today’s state-legal marijuana products are now more industrialized to look like everyday foods with higher potencies and increased availability. More people are using these products, and some people are becoming addicted and developing other mental and physical health conditions from their effects, which is affecting many families. Please join us to learn more about how families affected by another person’s marijuana use are finding support and hope through a program called Mar-anon.

In "No Addict Left Behind: Understanding Stigma, Dogma, and Harm Reduction in Addiction Recovery and Treatment," Joey Pagano, MSW, LSW, CRS, from The Traveling Social Workers, delves into the complex landscape of addiction recovery. This presentation aims to dismantle the stigma and dogmatic beliefs surrounding addiction treatment, advocating for a comprehensive understanding of harm reduction strategies and the unique, individualized nature of recovery journeys. It also seeks to empower allies with the tools for effective support, challenging participants to rethink conventional approaches to addiction recovery.

It’s estimated that there are now 500 alcohol-related deaths daily, with that number surging in recent years. And yet there are signs of hope. Knowledge of the many health risks associated with alcohol use is becoming more widely understood, evidenced by the growing popularity of Dry January, and falling drinking rates among younger populations. In this seminar Dr. Abe Malkin will explore some of these trends, the challenges we face, and ways we can encourage more people to access treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). Monument Chief Commercial Officer Dan Erstad will also give an overview of Monument’s work with employer partners.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy: An Evidence-Based Treatment for Chronic Pain
Recent neuroscience breakthroughs show that most chronic pain results from the brain misinterpreting safe messages from the body as if they were dangerous. Research has found that the brain has the power to generate pain even in the absence of physical damage. Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) is a system of psychological techniques that retrains the brain to accurately interpret and respond to signals from the body, breaking the cycle of chronic pain.
